It’s time for another Five Minute Friday. A blogger named Lisa Jo posts a random prompt every Friday with the challenge to write for five minutes, a free write. We silence the inner critics and just write… whatever comes out is what comes out… but I might correct spelling and grammatical errors. But I guess you’ll just have to keep reading to find out…
This Friday’s prompt? I’m glad you asked: FLY
Ready, set, go…

My brother’s a pilot. First things I think of when I hear the word FLY are all the memories built around the free flights/trips I got to take to fun places when I was listed as his “other” (before he got married). For instance, on a whim I decided to fly to Aspen for New Years. One weekend a girlfriend and I hopped over to Boston to check out the historic sites. Denver, Washington DC, Baltimore, Portland, Dallas… I had a blast.
And as freeing as it was… it was always so good to fly back home, to my nest, to my little craftsman cottage in the historic district.
While I love to fly and be free and adventure and experience new things… I also love the opportunity to nest.
But then I get restless again… and want to FLY. And then I don’t sit still again until I feel like it’s time to nest again. And right now, I want to nest. I don’t want to FLY. As intriguing at it sounds… I want to be in my studio, organizing, purging, cleaning… nesting.
Good thing it’s Friday… and with no other weekend plans. The only flying I plan to do this weekend is fly directly home from work so I can keep working… but in my space… in my space where my creativity SOARS…

Let’s just write and not worry if it’s just right or not. Here’s how to play along:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat for pure unedited love of the written word.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in {you can grab the button code in my blog footer}.
3. Go and comment on the post of the person who linked up before you. This is the one rule of this community.
