It’s time for another Five Minute Friday. A blogger named Lisa Jo Baker posts a random prompt every Friday with the challenge to write for five minutes, a free write. Bloggers from around the world (literally) are challenged to silence the inner critics and just write… whatever comes out is what comes out. OK, ok… I admit, I might correct spelling and grammatical errors.
Today’s prompt? I’m glad you asked: HERO
Ready, set, go…

I found my hero-of-a-hubby about 12 years ago. Actually, we found each other. Online. Yes.
We dated for about 15 months before we got married. (We eloped actually. What fun THAT was!) But, as he tells it, he knew he was going to marry me on date #2. He asked what I wanted to do for our time together that night … and I said I just wanted to go to McDonald’s for a caramel sundae.
He keeps me grounded. He is patient with me (most days). He wants the best for me (every day). He calls me on my attitude. He always tells me the truth (even if it hurts).
We are good for each other. As he explains it, he waited 30 years for the right woman of God… and what an answer to prayer that was. I’m glad we found each other.
After many hurts and lost nights of sleep, wondering if I’d ever find a companion who would understand me, take care of me, love me and want the best for me… God gave me those things in a {very handsome} package, tied it with a bow, and hung a tag on it that said “here’s your hero, love your Heavenly Father”.
as i see it, I have two heroes. both my Heavenly Father and my hero-of-a-hubby know me and love me. sometimes better than i know myself.

Thank you for the challenge Lisa Jo Baker… www.lisajobaker.com
Let’s just write and not worry if it’s just right or not. Here’s how to play along:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat for pure unedited love of the written word.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in {you can grab the button code in my blog footer}.
3. Go and comment on the post of the person who linked up before you. This is the one rule of this community.

Hi! I’m visiting from the 5MF link up! I almost wrote about my husband too! You know, for a long time I was super skeptical about on-line dating. But then finally I just thought, why the heck does it matter? We have the capabilities to meet people online and talk via web cam, face time, skype, now through facebook. It’s awesome so we should all make use of it to the fullest right? 🙂
