Have you ever felt STUCK?

feeling stuck?
feeling stuck?

I have.  On many occasions.  In various aspects of my existence.  But I don’t usually recognize it, for a while.

Here’s a bit of what I know on the topic:

  • Feeling stuck affects our perspective.
  • Feeling stuck leads to frustration.
  • Feeling stuck often means our current circumstances are beyond our control.
  • Feeling stuck stinks!!!

Plain and simple… the feeling of being stuck often indicates a short-sided perspective, an “oh poor me” mentality, a lack of vision or a drive to just START.

Recently I was challenged with this promise …

For I’m going to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun! Don’t you see it? I will make a road through the wilderness of the world for my people to go home, and create rivers for them in the desert!  Isaiah 43:19

And I am reminded by how stuck the people of Israel felt in the desert, year after year, drought after drought… and yet their God was faithful to follow through on His promises!

Faithful!!!

He always follows through on His promises… always!

Yet so quickly I had forgotten this recent promise from just a few weeks ago… until I heard this song on the way to work this morning.  And when I heard the lyrics “But if you lift your eyes, See it in a different light” I was reminded of the importance of a heavenly perspective…

I’ve included the lyrics below, but click on the link above, put it on repeat and CRANK IT UP!

Today is Beautiful, by David Dunn

Sometimes the day won’t ever end
Sometimes you just throw up your hands
It’s the little things sometimes

Sometimes the world has just gone dark
Sometimes you’re praying for a spark
It’s the little things sometimes

But if you lift your eyes
See it in a different light
Just a cloud up in the open sky
Let the rain, fall away
Cause today is beautiful

Lift your eyes
See it in a different light
Just a cloud up in the open sky
Let the rain, fall away
Cause today is beautiful

Right now it feels so hard to breath
Right now you’re asking God why me
It’s what you can see right now

Cause right now there’s a greater truth
Right now there’s a bigger view
Than what you can see right now

But if you lift your eyes
See it in a different light
Just a cloud up in the open sky
Let the rain, fall away
Cause today is beautiful

Lift your eyes
See it in a different light
Just a cloud up in the open sky
Let the rain, fall away
Cause today is beautiful

If you see more than what’s in front of you
You might see more of heavens view
If you see more than what’s in front of you
You might see more of heavens view

So lift your eyes
See it in a different light
Just a cloud up in the open sky
Let the rain, fall away
Cause today is beautiful

Lift your eyes
See it in a different light
Just a cloud up in the open sky
Let the rain, fall away
Cause today is beautiful
