Supplementing Wellness

What’s all the fuss about?  Well, let me just tell you.  THIS is the story of how I fell in love with Young Living’s essential oils.

1 – I was learning from a trusted friend who assured me we would continue to learn together.

2 – I trusted my friend’s suggestion and used the oils.

3 – I fell in love with the oils.

Seriously – it was that easy for me.  You see I was in the midst of a 9 month long sinus infection.  Our general practitioner had sent me to an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist.  I had been on round after round of antibiotics, used nasal sprays and rinses and who knows what else… and the only thing that happened was I almost completely lost my sense of taste and smell.  Actually, to describe it in more detail I lost a PART of my sense of taste and smell.  Things didn’t smell or taste right.  Like a part of the sense was working and a part of it wasn’t.  The suggested prescriptions just didn’t work for me.  (Note – I’m not anti-prescription – don’t get me wrong. I’m not THAT granola.  But the 14 different nasal things that were suggested to me by both my GP and ENT guy just didn’t work for me.)

When coffee smelled more like manure than coffee I got desperate.

Around the same time my friend invited a couple of us over to her house so she could answer some questions about this new thing she was loving.  It wasn’t anything like a Tupperware party – or I probably wouldn’t have gone.  There was no pressure to buy anything, or book a party or host anything… so I was game.

I went.  I learned.  I caved.

And I’m glad I did.

I got my oils and started using lemon, lavender, and peppermint over my sinuses – which was a combo my friend recommended.  And wouldn’t you know it – roughly two weeks later the gunk and crud in my sinuses was GONE!  Just gone – for the first time in 9 months!  And then a month later I realized it hadn’t returned – like every time before with the prescriptions.

Another month went by – still using this oil combo and I realized my sense of taste and smell was almost back to normal!

Needless to say, I had quickly become an avid oil user and couldn’t shut up about them.  The rest is history!

Like I said earlier, I’m not anti-prescription, I’m not anti-doctor.  I’ll be the first person to say – don’t wait that one out, you need to be seen.  But, I know a lot of us WAIT to use medications, go to the Dr, etc. We wait it out hoping we don’t have to take time off for a Dr’s appt, put the drugs in our body, etc. Right? I know I do.

Well, hear this:  I have good news for you… we can use the oils daily without harm to our bodies (with the proper knowledge, following label instructions, etc).

Let me encourage you – just use the oils and see what happens.

I would encourage you not to wait until you’re sick to try them / use them. Instead, use them how they were intended and see what differences you notice. You might be amazed…

The other day I had an epiphany while chatting with a friend that centered around how/when I use these oils. When we incorporate the oils in our lives in order to SUPPORT WELLNESS our thought process changes a bit. When we understand that these essential oils can offer something VERY different – we feel empowered to shift our mindset to wellness. We may find that 1) we feel better (physically/emotionally), 2) we think differently about health, and 3) that we aren’t running to the medicine cabinet / doctor as much, etc.  You see, our bodies know what to do with the oils and the oils know what to do with our bodies.

So, read up… learn what the oils can help with and then use them.

If you have questions and want to know more hit me up!  I could talk about oils all day long!  I really could.
