Go mark yourself OUT OF OFFICE for at least 24 DAYS of 2022 (and not you’re already scheduled days off, not weekends).
Can you do it?
Sure you can decide later to let things creep into this sacred time. But before the year starts make YOUR TIME the sacred thing. And plan some fun things for those days, some relaxing things, some personal development things, maybe even NOTHING for one or two of those days.
This is the post you pay attention to because these favorites can fly out of stock!
SUPPLEMENTS
ImmuPro: ImmuPro Chewable Tablets are one of the easiest ways to give your body a good boost! These tablets are packed full of immune-supporting herbs and essential oils that stimulate the immune system (both cell-mediated and humoral immunity!), provide necessary minerals like Zinc, Copper, and Selenium, and allow the body to rest by providing a small amount of melatonin. When we are stressed our bodies need sleep even more to allow healing to occur. So adding melatoning to the mix just makes sense!
Inner Defense: This supplement is just what the name suggests – a defense and protection from all that today’s world can throw at us! This powerhouse blend of essential oil supports the immune and respiratory systems, making it a wonderful addition to your health routine either for daily use or for when your defenses start to go down.
Super C: Super C supports normal immune, respiratory, and circulatory function with vitamin C, rutin, citrus bioflavonoids, minerals, and an array of premium essential oils. These ingredients work together to promote overall health, vitality, and longevity. The added premium essential oils may also increase bioflavonoid activity. The ingredients in Super C also help to strengthen connective tissues and promote overall health, vitality, and longevity. Because your body cannot manufacture vitamin C, you can benefit by consuming this powerful antioxidant daily. Each serving provides 1300mg of Vitamin C! Also available in Super C Chewable Tablets: This formulation includes Orange premium essential oil and a broad range of fruit powders, including camu camu, acerola, cherry, and rose hip and delivers 150mg of Vitamin C per tablet.
Super Vitamin D: Super Vitamin D is a super source of vitamin D that helps support bone growth and healthy muscle AND plays a key function in respiratory health, supports innate and adaptive defense mechanisms, and the immune system overall. Vitamin D is also critical for mood and hormone regulation! Young Living’s Super Vitamin D is a small, dissolvable talbot infused with lemon balm extract and Lime Vitality essential oil for even more health benefits.
OTC PRODUCTS
Thieves Cough Drops: These cough drops are great at suppressing cough and relieving sore throats, and they are simply the most convenient way to get all of the internal, immune-boosting goodness of Thieves essential oil! So many lozenges are full of dyes, flavors, and sweeteners that are actually suppressing your ability to fight disease. Unlike these other lozenges, Thieves Lozenges use pure essential oils and natural ingredients instead of sugar or artificial flavoring for a great, refreshing taste.
Thieves Chest Rub & Cough Suppressant: Conquer your seasonal cold the natural way! Conventional chest rubs are full of synthetic ingredients and low-quality ‘natural’ ingredients. The 100 percent plant-based formula of Thieves Chest Rub delivers over-the-counter strength with hands-free application for quick relief you can count on. Temporarily relieve cough and congestion with soothing aromatic vapors and a powerful combination of camphor, menthol, and eucalyptus. Thieves Chest Rub helps reduce coughing and is safe to use on family members ages 2 and up. It’s a medicine cabinet must-have!
FALL SCENTS
Bergamot: This slightly spicy citrus oil is the perfect addition to any Autumn diffuser blend! Try it with Eucalyptus, Spruce or Christmas Spirit! Bergamot is also very uplighting to the mood and emotions and is very cleansing. It may also provide cardiovascular and general wellness support when taken internally.
Cinnamon Bark: If there were one scent to summarize Autumn it would be Cinnamon Bark! Spicy and reminiscent of baked goods, this oil is also incredibly supportive of the immune system and packs a great antioxidant punch.
Idaho Grand Fir: Like walking through a winter forest, this tree oil is a favorite for so many. Also known as western white fir, Idaho Grand Fir essential oil was traditionally used by Native Americans to promote well-being. It has a refreshing, grounding aroma that evokes a sense of fall and winter nostalgie. Idaho Grand Fir can be used to enhance yoga or meditation when diffused or inhaled and promotes the sensation of deeper breathing.
Orange: The happiest of all the oils, Orange is a wonderful addition to ANY diffuser blend. Pair it with spice oils like Cinnamon Bark and Nutmeg, with Idaho Grand Fir and Lavender for sleep, or with Thieves for a great everyday blend. Orange is an incredibly uplifting oil that also inspires creativity!
Nutmeg: Nutmeg is an essential fall scent. Warm and welcoming, grounding and so good for our immune and adrenal systems! Diffuse this oil for a pick me up anytime of day. Pair with Cinnamon Bark, Orange, Thieves, or Idaho Grand Fir!
Thieves: Thieves is the oil that’s always in season, but it is especially wonderful this time of year. Cinnamon Bark, Clove, Eucalyptus and Rosemary essential oils are warm and inviting and create a calm, cozy space. Plus, they are incredible for purifying the air and supporting the immune system!
ESSENTIAL OILS
Breathe Again: Breathe Again is our favorite respiratory support roll-on! This blend of Peppermint, Cypress, Copaiba and multiple Eucalyptus varieties has a slightly sweet, herbaceous aroma that feels like a deep sigh of relief! This blend contains naturally occurring constituents Eucalyptol, Limonene, Menthol, and Alpha Pinene which are wonderful for calming, soothing and supporting healthy respiration. This blend also comes in a 15mL bottle which is perfect for diffusing, blending with other oils or adding to diffuser jewelry.
ImmuPower: The name of this blend says it all!! ImmuPower is a combination of powerful essential oils, including Hyssop, Mountain Savory, Cistus, Camphor, Frankincense, Oregano, Clove, Cumin, and Dorado Azul. Use this oil blend daily as a mainstay for you to be supported above the wellness line. Use it every few hours for acute needs.
Oregano: Don’t do fall and winter without Oregano! This herbaceous oil helps support a healthy lifestyle when taken as a dietary supplement and packs an incredible immune system punch. Diffuse with Thieves, Lavender, Orange and/or Rosemary. Add Oregano to your Thieves Household Cleaner. It is also a great addition to a daily wellness roller and a component of both Inner Defense Capsules the Raindrop Kit. When taking it as a supplement, be sure to use a carrier oil such as V-6 or olive oil to dilute.
R.C.: RC is a gentle, soothing eucalyptus blend that is safe for children ages 2 and older! We love to diffuse R.C. with Thieves and Orange after school to soothe and support the immune and respiratory systems. It is also great ad bedtime with Lavender! You can use R.C. to make a natural chest rub for little ones just by diluting with some solid coconut oil. R.C. is also a great addition to your daily wellness blend!
Thieves: The original immune support oil! This blend was created from research recorded in the archives of the British Museum library about a group of 14th century European perfumers and spice traders who rubbed oils on themselves for protection while they robbed the dead and dying. Use Thieves daily for immune support and overall wellness. Diffuse, dilute and apply 2-3 times daily, add a drop to herbal tea, add to Epsom salts for a lovely bath!
Soon, social media will be flooded with posts about sick kids and sick parents…
I have a theory… we don’t have flu season we have sugar season… our body is working so hard to process the sugar, that it is distracted from doing the other things.
So what can you do to prepare?
1. Increase Vit D (use D3+K2 drops)
2. Increase Vitamin C (my favorite Super C Chewable from Young Living and NingXia Red)
3. Increase your greens (my favorite: Multigreens)
4. Immune boosting oils like Thieves! (Diffuse and apply to bottoms of feet DAILY!)
5. Kill all.the.things with Thieves Household Cleaner, Thieves Foaming Hand Soap, Thieves Hand Purifier, Thieves Roll-On, Thieves Wipes, Thieves Spray, Thieves Lozenges, all.the.thieves…
6. Limit sugar! There are so many great tasting options out there!
What else are you doing to survive Sugar Season 2021?
A post on Instagram hit me hard this morning – and I’m going to paraphrase the message and what it meant for me.
Jesus died so we can LIVE.
Stop being scared to live your life. Stop letting the opinions of people dictate how you operate. Stop NOT doing the thing you are feeling led to do. Stop being a chicken.
Pour out everything that God has put inside you for your generation. You are unique to your position, to your influence, to your journey in life… and it’s for a unique purpose only God can fulfill through YOUR walk.
Chase your dreams and die empty.
We are called to live – not simply exist, not simply wait to be taken to heaven. Jesus came to give us LIFE and in abundance! Step out in faith and start the business, start the ministry, start your family, start your blog, start your podcast, etc. Do it!
JUST START! Stop living life on the sidelines waiting for the approval or OK from people – Jesus already gave it when He died so that we can live!
And if He put that inside you, and He has a plan for you – why wouldn’t you want to live out that amazing plan he has for you?
Whether in a PERSONAL relationship, a VOLUNTEER position, or a JOB-related situation… these skills will get you places. Get good at them. Practice them. Master them.
… you wake up and decide EVERY DAY… what’s important to me today?
Maybe one day it’s having fun. And maybe the next day it’s completing a heavy journey. And maybe it’s heavy for a long time. And maybe it’s about putting aside the To Do list, throwing caution to the wind, and taking some time off.
And every day, amidst all of those things… we make decisions about what’s best for us. And that’s a decision ONLY we can make for ourselves.
I hope you’re seeking the best for you. I hope you’re asking important questions, seeking guidance, and being intentional with where you exert your time, money, and affections. This is not a new concept coming from me. If you’ve known me for longer than 15 mins you’ll know my heart for chasing down the best out of life, crushing goals, building community, learning from each other, and cheering each other on… with a passion.
If you ask my opinion I will tell you the truth. I will not shame your decisions (even if it’s Converse and/or skinny jeans). Know this – I want the best for you. But your life decisions are YOUR life decisions. And my decisions are mine. I own them. You own yours. I encourage you to ask all the questions you need to ask, make the decisions that are right for you and your family. Do your research. And know, I am here for you.
I started doing research just over 7 years ago and have learned volumes worth of information that I get to share regularly (and I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to sharing about what I love). My focus on being proactive with decisions (vs reactive) sometimes gets the side-eye. But I am 100% confident in that decision.
In the blog post I have the opportunity to share MY STORY – I’m happy to share what I am doing in regards to being the best advocate for myself and our family members… emotionally, physically, and so on. I truly desire to be a resource for others seeking answers. It all comes down to what we personally decide and how we take responsibility (and be prepared) for ourselves. So, with that I share…
My Top 5 Things I am Doing For My Health
Want to feel empowered to do what’s right for you and your family? Then I am glad you are here. This is what my PROactive looks like. And friend, you are worth it. Everyday.
Pray / Worship
Each morning my day starts in the quiet. It’s not typically limited by time. There isn’t a timer that says “ok – next!” Sometimes it’s 15 minutes, sometimes it’s 2 hours. Sometimes God talks to me for a long time. Sometimes we spend it together in song, in worship and I get to thank Him for all He’s given me. It’s the foundation of my day. And I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
#protip – Put a drop of Valor / Sacred Mountain / Grounding / Release / Bergamot / Tangerine / Believe OR Highest Potential in the palm of one hand. Rub your hands together and cup over nose & mouth. Breathe in, hold for 10 seconds. Breathe out. Repeat for a minute.
Mental / Emotional Health
Pay attention to the DRIVERS of your emotions, and the emotions themselves. Is it the presence of certain people? A certain set of circumstances? A certain location, special time of the month, after you’ve over-eaten / neglected yourself, before the anniversary of a traumatic event, a certain sound / song / visual cue? Pay attention to those. Don’t run from them. Your emotions are telling you something. They may be lying to you (yes, you read that right), but they’re ever present. Don’t ignore them. Find tools to improve your mental / emotional health.
Be prepared for what you’ll do when you know big emotions are headed your way. Take time off. Support your emotions with the use of your tried & true tools: massage, aromatic influence, the influence of your favorite uplifting music, the sounds of the beach waves or trees blowing in the wind.
Feed your sensesand feel your emotions. But don’t let them dictate your day (or your mood).
Identify answers to these, mindfully:
What sets your heart on fire? In a good / bad way.
What is your deepest hurt? Biggest regret?
What emotion haunts you? Do you shame yourself when this pops up out of nowhere?
Where do you PHYSICALLY go to process big emotions?
How do you turn off the NEGATIVE recording in your head and switch it out for a POSITIVE one? Hint: you do it over and over again every day.
Have a plan ahead of time to reach out for the help you need, when you need it. Talk to a friend or someone trained in the tools you need – AHEAD OF TIME. Be prepared to follow this plan BEFORE you have to put it to work.

Support your ADRENALS with the use of Nutmeg while on the go. Ask me about using a warm compress with with clove, nutmeg and rosemary over the kidneys/adrenal glands for extra oomph!
Or take these Vitality oils internally in a capsule. Let’s chat.
Also – did you know the organs in our body store remnants of our emotions? Let’s chat to discuss various emotions and which organs they might be affecting. I have protocols! I want to share about them!
Physical Health
Remove bad things. Replace with good things. Be PROactive instead of REactive.
Rely on my WELLNESS cabinet instead of my medicine cabinet. It’s a mindset change that took a long time. But when the light bulb came on it was LIFE GIVING!
Repeat after me “I am the gatekeeper. I am the gatekeeper. I am the gatekeeper.”
What does this look like? Remove toxins. Replace with safe + natural items. From cleaning supplies and chemicals in my environment to what goes IN my body. I had to stop using some prescriptions due to severe reactions. I was SO GLAD to find a way to heal from those reactions and avoid the reaction altogether in the future.
But also to find a way to PROactively sustain our health is SO EMPOWERING! To have a plan for it and a decision made ahead of time. I can proceed with 100% confidence that I’ve made the right decision.
A book recommendation: “A More Excellent Way”, Dr. Henry Wright

In addition to regular physical activity, there are a number of Young Living products that can support your musculoskeletal and respiratory efforts. From supplements to essential oils.
Drink your water. Lots of water.
And recovery? HELLO AMINOWISE!
Personal & Professional Growth
Here is a list of 5 books that I have read multiple times. I’m a slow processor. It has to sink it, then I have to apply it, then I want to come back and glean it again after learning the lesson. It’s how I learn. Here’s some of my favorite books on this topic of personal & professional growth:
“The Way of the Warrior”, Erwin McManus
“The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth”, John Maxwell
“Leadershift”, John Maxwell
“Start With Why”, Simon Sinek
“Emotional Intelligence 2.0”, Travis Bradberry & Jean Greaves
#protip – As you dig deep into working on breaking old habits / establishing new habits… put a drop of Valor / Sacred Mountain / Believe OR Highest Potential in the palm of one hand. Rub your hands together and cup over nose & mouth. Breathe in, hold for 10 seconds. Breathe out. Repeat for a minute.
Rest/Relax
What do you do for fun?
Where do you go to let off steam?
What type of setting do you recharge in?
Is “relaxing” for you a nap or a run?
When you “rest” do you feel recharged?
Be mindful in this too. Like in kindergarten, naps are good for EVERYONE! There is a lesson to learn in this.
Schedule “off time” for yourself. Recognize the patterns that make you feel unrested, uptight, and under pressure. And schedule some rest / relaxing time for yourself. Being mindful even in this is key!
#protip – To promote good sleep, diffuse a calming aroma next to your bed at night. A few oils I can recommend: cedarwood, Dream Catcher, Valor, Sacred Mountain, orange, Stress Away, Lavender, Sleepyize, or Stress Away.
Email me at lori@lorijtisdale.com for a further discussion, and a list of the proactive health protocols I’ve been relying on as the gatekeeper to my health and home.
A little over a year ago I had a severe adverse reaction and lost my sense of smell. For someone like me that’s a VERY serious loss. It impacted my taste (pretty much zero) and honestly made me severely depressed for about a week. I had no idea how impactful sensory loss was. Long story short I did this training and it WORKED for me! Definitely helped that I had all the supplies at my disposal .
Loss of taste and smell is a current hot topic for many people I know right now so wanted to share what I did.
four essential oils – rose, lemon, clove and eucalyptus. You can sub the rose (or another floral like Joy/Palmarosa/Geranium) but has to be a full blown floral aroma. These are specifically chosen because they hit all the anosmia buttons.
The precise choice of oils represents 4 distinctly different categories.
eucalyptus = woodsy
lemon = citrus
clove = spicy
rose = floral
a supply of cotton wool pads (or perfume-testing strips, if you can get hold of some)
1. Start with one oil – it doesn’t matter which – and put a few drops on the pad.
2. Let the aroma develop for a couple of minutes, then bring the pad to within an inch of your nose and breathe naturally through your nose. Don’t try too hard and inhale sharply – if you do, you’re unlikely to smell anything.
3. Move the pad away, then bring it back up to your nose and inhale again. Do this several times with the same oil.
4. Then take a break for five minutes before repeating the process with the next essential oil.
5. Aim to do the training twice a day, in the morning and evening.
Don’t be discouraged if you can’t smell anything at first. Anecdotal evidence from anosmia sufferers who’ve tried the technique suggests that it may take at least a week before you get a hint of any fragrance.
For best results, researchers recommend that you follow the smell training for six months. Buy these recommended items (plus 1 from the tips below)
Note from Lori:
Since symptoms of a zinc deficiency also include loss of taste/smell, there are a few other considerations I should mention:
Research your zinc intake/levels and consider talking to a medical professional about how to determine the appropriate amount for you.
pH of the body will determine if Zinc (or any other minerals for that matter) are being assimilated. We can take in more zinc, but unless our pH is within a certain range, our body won’t actually be utilizing it.
Research foods rich in zinc and see if you can increase, if needed.
YL has a few supplements with zinc present: Aminowise, Pure Protein, Master Formula, Powergize / Cardiogize / Endogize.
One more quick tip, if you also suffer from a loss of taste, I can recommend orange essential oil to stimulate the salivary glands. Here’s a few tips on how to utilize it:
Put a drop of two of orange essential oil on a hot/wet washcloth and wash hands / face with it before eating. The aroma of orange is known to stimulate the glands.
Put a drop of orange essential oil in a small cup of lukewarm water and drink just prior to eating.
Historically, Laurus Nobilis was used (both the leaves and the black berries) to alleviate indigestion and loss of appetite.
Or smell essential oil from a cotton ball / lid of the essential oil bottle.
If I can answer any other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.
